Plough Monday has come and gone with a whimper. It used to be the case that much mischief, merriment, and a good knees-up took place in rural areas celebrating one of the tools of the trade of the humble farm-worker, the plough — the very apparatus used to cultivate crops, creating and sustaining farming communities.
